Everett J. Eklund, DDS
Dentistry is my passion and I enjoy giving patients back their smile. I feel privileged to be practicing in the community where I was raised, and it is my goal to provide the absolute best possible care.
I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Loma Linda University in California. I am a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the International Academy of Mini Dental Implants (IAMDI), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the Washington County Dental Society (WCDS), and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS). I am also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and completed a Nobel Biocare Implant Dentistry Residency.
Being raised in Washington County, I am glad to call Hagerstown my home. In my spare time, I enjoy coaching a middle school basketball team. My wife and I have two wonderful daughters and I love spending time with my family.

Administrative Team
Claudia – Comptroller
Claudia is our comptroller at Potomac Dental Centre, and she loves numbers. Her past experience includes working as a physicians’ accountant at Inter-Medic Medical Center to 60+ physicians. Claudia measures productivity of our team and doctor. She has been working at our Hagerstown, Maryland dental practice since 2003.
Claudia has been married for over 20 years and has two beautiful daughters.
April – Patient Care/Scheduling Coordinator
April first joined Potomac Dental Centre in February 2012. She brings with her 15+ years of clinical and administrative experience. April has an A.A. degree in Business; she actively maintains her Qualified Dental Assistant license and her Dental Radiography license. As Patient care/scheduling coordinator her responsibilities encompass many aspects of our business, assisting with procedures, billing, marketing, and customer service. April takes great pleasure in making sure every patient is taken care of. April resides with her husband and her two wonderful children.
Susie – Practice Facilitator
Susie started working at Potomac Dental Centre in 2003. She graduated from Allegany College with her Associate of Applied Science degree in dental hygiene, and has also completed a bachelor of arts in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. She has been a hygienist since 1999. In October 2015, Susie became the Implant Coordinator and Marketing director at PDC and continues to fill in for Hygiene when needed. Susie is passionate about dentistry and enjoys working closely with patients. Part of her role is to provide help with financing and following up with implant related procedures. Susie enjoys spending time with her husband and son in her spare time.
Dental Assistant Team
Katie – Dental Assistant
Katie joined Potomac Dental Centre in the fall of 2012. Katie received her dental assistant training at Hagerstown Community College. She has her Maryland Radiation license, and became a Certified Dental Assistant and is currently working towards her Orthodontic Assistant license. Katie is extremely thorough when she assists patients, and her soft spoken demeanor reassures patients that they are in good hands.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
Elsa – Dental Assistant
Elsa moved from Arizona to Maryland May, 2014. She started at Potomac Dental Centre in August, 2014 in our sterilization and clinic area maintenance and soon after started to assist the dentist chair side. She has her Maryland Radiation license. She is a very helpful asset to the practice, a team player and willing to learn new things. She enjoys the field of dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family and friends.
Courtney – Dental Assistant
Courtney joined our team in July 2015. She attended Hagerstown Community College for her dental assistant training. She has been an assistant for over 5 years and also has training in front desk duties. Courtney provides enthusiasm and a positive attitude no matter if it’s working on the clinical side of things or helping with front desk.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She’s also a photographer.
Dental Hygiene Team
Melinda has been a hygienist at Potomac Dental Centre since 2010. She graduated from Allegany College with an Associate in Applied Science degree. Melinda believes continuing education is essential and, through her years of practicing, has taken many courses to stay informed about the latest updates in health, treatments, and technologies in the dental field. Patients appreciate her friendliness and gentle care.Melinda is a mother of two and accomplished equestrian rider; through this she discovered the meaning of hard work and commitment.
Lindsay – Dental Hygienist
Lindsay has been a hygienist with Potomac Dental Centre since September of 2014. She graduated from Allegany College of Maryland with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science. Lindsay has been in the dental field since 2003, starting out as a dental assistant working her way to a hygienist. Lindsay enjoys educating her patients on all dental topics but mainly focuses on their home care and how they can have great oral hygiene. She considers herself to be very gentle but thorough.
In her free time, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She is very adventurous and enjoys most outdoor activities. (Even the occasional sky diving adventure.)
Maila – Dental Hygienist
Malia graduated from Allegany College of Maryland with an associates degree in Applied Science. She joined our team in December 2016. Malia’s key focus in our office is to provide the utmost dental care as well as patient education. By informing patients of prevention methods and daily oral care tips, Malia strives to help patients improve their self-confidence and overall health. Malia enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as surfing and snowboarding.
